If Your Not Fishing In A Geisler, Well…..What’s Wrong With Ya?

Well came across this deal this year, it’s a Geisler cedar strip boat made in Powassan, Ontario.  I gotta’ tell ya she’s a fisherman’s dream come true to own one of these.  If you decide to stand you can do so with ease and no fear of falling out of the boat.  Nice and wide too if you need to stretch them legs, five feet across.  Same length as the wife, huh.    The two swivel seats are so comfortable that it is as if sittin’ in your lazy boy back home.   Design and quality is something not to be taken lightly neither.  I couldn’t recommend a better boat for those that like to get out there and catch the big ones.  On the back is a nice Fifteen Horse Evinrude, large enough to take you anywhere and if you want to troll, well this is what you need.   Also loads easy on that Easy Hauler Trailer.  So………..if your in the market for a boat of a life time head on out and visit Geisler boats in Powassan, Ontario.  Link to their web site below, your just a click away.  Also to enlarge pictures just click images.  Oh and I named it Jennie in remembrance of a horse I had many years ago.  My lovely wife painted the name on er just the other day.

Cool Couple Days Here In Port Loring

Well we have had a few cool days here in Port Loring, but don’t worry it won’t last.  Warmer weather is on the way for the weekend and winds changing to the South, South West which by the way is what you want for some good fishing. Old saying is, that when the wind is from the West, fishing is at its best and that is so true.   Can’t wait to get out there.  Today though I did put a two stick fire on in the old wood furnace to take out the dampness in the basement and the house and have to say it sure felt good too.  Seems as the years pass, I  feel the cold more.  Guess the old blood is thinning out a touch.  Not much now mind ya, don’t want you to think I am getting too old.   Again your only as old as you feel and I have to say these days I have been feeling pretty good.

Grass is sure growing though let me tell ya and it is a full time job getting it cut every week.  I have around an acre and a half to cut.   But I enjoy doing it and keeping things up around the house.  Nothing better in my eyes than to get out in my gardens and do some hoeing or what ever.  Makes my day with the smell of the fresh soil and sun just a shinning.  What more can a feller or gal ask for??  Vegetable garden is doing really well so far, got tomato plants around three feet high, just need some sun to get them blossoms turning into tomatoes.  I am confident though that we will have all we need.  Long range looks good.   Coffee time here, fresh perked Nabob Tradition is my favourite, have a cup or two every day.  My lovely wife looks after that end of things.  Look forward to it too.  Should also say a cup or two is good for ya and helps keep Alzheimer’s away.   In Closing I Would Like To Wish You Well.

Vegetable Garden Happenings Here In Port Loring Ontario

Well I have to say it’s been a really good year for my vegetable garden. I was eating spinach the middle of May and from then on things have steadily been growing. This is the first year that I have had my broccoli in the freezer this early. So early in fact, that I have taken out the old plants already and put in a row of late corn. I also have dug my garlic and it is nicely drying, hung up in the shop out of the sun. Need a good spot that is dry. Also one should remember never to wash the bulbs after digging them, leave the dirt right on them as it keeps them from spoiling. Simple to wash when needed.
I also put in another row of spinach, should say this is my third planting. Dong so will guarantee me fresh new leaves for my salads all summer long. Myself I pick them about the second week they start sprouting from the soil. Doing so one has the best salad one can get. Mix it up with a few radishes which is growing well this year and a few celery sticks cut up and you got yourself a meal in itself. And nothing could be better for ya. Now we need some sunshine to keep things growing nicely, as right at this moment we have had enough rain. To much of a good thing can mess things up some. But……… long range looks just perfect. Well…. wife has a sandwich ready here for me, yes……. home-made bread and a salad fresh out of the garden, so guess go and get some. Enjoy!!
